About Us

DOVES® is a landmark program of the Area Agency on Aging, Region One, serving victims of late-life domestic violence and elder abuse.  This innovative program assists older victims of abuse regain their well-being and independence by providing them with safe, affordable housing and critical support services to help them overcome emotional trauma and become self-sufficient. 

The program started in 1996 with one support group and created the one- woman skit "The Dance" to spread awareness of late-life domestic violence.  The program expanded to several support groups, emergency, transitional, and interim housing as the needs of our community expanded.  Below you will find a current Wish List of items most needed by our program at this time, donations can be dropped off at the Area Agency on Aging located at 1366 E Thomas Road, Suite 108 Phoenix, AZ 85014 for more information please call 602-264-2255.
